I’m very interested in building a 20’ container for me to live in with my dog when she has puppies. What does everyone recommend for a power supply that will run a fridge all day and a ac/heater unit (what unit would you recommend) for about 3-5hrs and will be able to run an air fryer&coffee maker & phone charger Also a nice toilet system without having a sewer hookup?

I don't think a container is a good place to live. A. it would get smoking hot in the winter and super cold in the winter so you would need to have a really good air conditioner (waste of power and a lot of heat in the winter to heat it).

Did yoi think about using the sliver bubble foil insulation? Jim.Desclos has the utube channel thebossoftheswamp and Jim.has used the bubble foil insulation in many of his projects.

I always wondered how they were gonna waterproof/run-off any water on the top of the container, but its great he doubled it into a water collection system. I never thought these were a viable place of living (heck people repurposed them for the rich ironically enough, for this purpose, and it still looked like crap for _that_ price), this is way better. You use what you can, and he made a cozy place for about a few grand

POUA (Piece of unsolicited advice: ) When using Sawzall, jig, Portaband...any hack type blade, try slowing your blade speed WAY down (say 500rpm,) and use lubrication WD40 is convenient.. You will be cutting, not grinding. You will notice the cuts are cleaner, your blades and drill bits last much, much longer, and the work won't warp. You will notice that ribbons of material come off. rather than dust. Also quieter, you will spare your cornea, and eyelid, a metal sliver or two. and improve overall serenity on the job. I learned that From Mr. Le Beaux, 9th grade shop teacher (1977.) An all -around good dude...

My only concern with these shipping containers is that they are made of steel. Sure , they’re probably very durable and will last an age , but won’t they get too hot 🥵 in the summer and too cold 🥶 in the winter ? I could be wrong as I know very little about them.
